Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a gold eagle with wings inverted upon a horizontal propeller; all entwined by a tripartite blue scroll inscribed "THAT" at left, "WE MAY" at bottom and "SERVE" at right in gold letters; all below a black tricorn hat trimmed with a gold cockade.

Symbolism
Ultramarine blue is the primary branch color associated with Aviation units.  Gold stands for excellence; the eagle embodies swift mobility and courage.  The propeller symbolizes aviation.  The unit's assignment to a Reserve Command is reflected by the tricorn hat worn by the citizen-soldier of the American Revolution.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 24 November 1987.
